Dunkin' Malkin over Rachael Ray Ad

Politically Uncorrect Donuts and Stupid Rightwing Blog Postings

BOSTON (AP) -- Dunkin' Donuts has pulled an online advertisement featuring Rachael Ray after complaints
that a fringed black-and-white scarf that the celebrity
chef wore in the ad offers symbolic support
for Muslim extremism and terrorism.

OH SURE, that's what it is... oOo oOo

In the spot, Ray holds an iced coffee while standing in front of trees with pink blossoms.

oOo It's shocking that she's ALSO being so insensitive to the Japanese with such cherry-blossom trees in the ad. oOo And what's that in the background - some wierd flying saucer?!

oOo Now Asians, Americans, Muslims AND Martians are offeended... oOo oOo

I had something to say to Ms. Malkin over here and since before this I never knew she and her ilk were clogging the blogs with such nonsense, I still remain among "the clueless" as to why? anyone else pays them any attention. oOo oOo

Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan Murdered

Mobile post sent by zoooks using Utterz. Replies. mp3

I'm really ANGRY about the Bhutto killing. These things effect us all, just like evil acts close at home. Just when there seemed some hope about good coming out of the gov't turmoil in Pakistan...

I don't even follow the daily sludge of the news anymore.
The local news and too many "sensationews" outlets like to rub it
in yur face. But I can't keep silent about big events like these in
the world's "boiling points". oOo oOo

oOo But here's my question(s), my dialogue, with myself: oOo

IF people are mostly "good / in good condition" - whole - complete
- then what's broken, corrupt, killed, evil, horrible etc. is
considered the exception and news-worthy... oOo but it doesn't help much,
its overwhelming and depressing, so "knowing about it" tends to make
us worse off.

IF people are mostly "bad / in awful situations" - hurting and
hateful, broken, destructive, maimed, etc. - then the good that
happens is *neglected* as being trivial, irrelevant. Or, is it so
routine, normal and uninteresting? oOo So we only get reports of the bad,
which reinforces our perceptions of horribleness. Thanks again, news
guys.

oOo And, I try to answer myself: oOo

I disagree on both counts: the world around us is basically good, even if WE are messed up and bad-off, and we should have reminders to see and celebrate the way things ARE - the good around us - IN SPITE of ourselves and what other messed up people do/ don't do! WE humans are the ones out of sync with reality: the way life IS!

Instead of wallowing in how bad things are - oOo [ which, as a side
note, is what most media, movies, music, art, literature, self-expression,
entertainment, gaming, etc. does. Or, artists and entertainers try to create
diversions for us, so we can ignore and avoid confronting how bad things are- ] oOo

WE should *conform ourselves* to the way the world is to be, and
stop listening to how bad things are. oOo oOo

That said, we should remain OUTRAGED when evil-- like any of these
killings, hateful, hurtful acts-- is done.

Can we pray- and not seek revenge- but seek to do "something" to
overcome these ways people behave and act, which *ruins* the world
for the rest of us?!

-- -- - - - - - - - - - - -

oOo So from first being angry, now I feel numb, and I grieve. oOo

And I haven't even begun to talk about ours/ yours and my own complicity
with how screwed up life is; or how I, in my own messed-up state,
contributes to the brokenness of the world. oOo oOo

Lord have mercy-- Christmas and it's peace didn't last very long, did it?

Welcome, "Happy New Year"!

Kasparov, chess champion, shows up again

Kasparov freed after anti-Putin rally

Wow, after all these years, the former world chess champion has emerged as the most prominent leader of the Russian opposition alliance. He was the arch-rival of Bobbie Fischer, strange American chessplayer of ancient times (1970's). oOo

MOSCOW - Hundreds of demonstrators defied authorities Saturday by trying to stage an anti-government rally banned from a landmark downtown square, setting off sporadic clashes with police across Moscow and bringing a wave of arrests.

A coalition of opposition groups organized the "Dissenters March" to protest the economic and social policies of President Vladimir Putin as well as a series of Kremlin actions that critics say has stripped Russians of many political rights. oOo

"It is no longer a country [Russia]... where the government tries to pretend it is playing by the letter and spirit of the law," Kasparov said outside the court building, appearing unfazed by his detention.

"We now stand somewhere between Belarus and Zimbabwe," two dictatorships that have cracked down on opposition, he said. oOo oOo

But some protesters said they were not discouraged by the small turnout or intimidated by the overwhelming force marshaled to block the rally. oOo

Andrei Illarionov, a former Putin economics adviser who has become a Kremlin critic, pointed out that in 1968 only six people appeared in Red Square to protest the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. Ouch!! Progress! oOo oOo

Ousted Pastor Outed?

Or: There's No Gays in Muddville? - (Colorado Springs)
Nobody's really happy about this sad affair of disgraced pastor Ted Haggard in Colorado. Churches sure aren't; "evangelicals" won't like the connection; bad publicity for Colorado here; and even "liberals" won't be able to swallow the association of a "conservative pastor" in homosexual activity, which these days should only be for the "chosen special few". oOo

Unless gay rights activists are glad that this "outing" takes place just before Tuesday's ballot when Colorado voters decide on 2 bills concerning same-sex marriage? oOo

Sorry for the flimsy title allusion, but I have to ask: is it now ("politically") correct that Rev. Haggard should be considered gay for having engaged in homosexual acts?

Haggard had acknowledged on Friday that he paid Mike Jones of Denver for a "massage" and for methamphetamine. [therefore, probably some sort of drug-induced sex. ] oOo
Jones is quoted, "My intent was never to destroy his family. My intent was to expose a hypocrite." [ Not to expose that he was doing anything wrong, like homosexual activity - but that he was doing it and hiding it! ] oOo

About Jone's motives, (who said he himself is gay), we know that Jones was upset when he discovered who Haggard was and that Haggard's church opposed same-sex marriage. So exposing this deceit and hypocrisy could have a positive effect for the pro-homo side.

Haggard wrote in a confessional letter to his church "because of pride, I began deceiving those I love the most..." and "The fact is I am guilty of sexual immorality. And I take responsibility for the entire problem. I am a deceiver and a liar."

Strong words, right to the point, and not easy for ANYONE to admit or say!
oOo And, dare I add, not the kind of language we ever heard a certain Bill Clinton own up to! oOo [ but that's another "politically correct" story, isn't it...?] oOo

So a man is found to be living a lie and a double-life, who strongly and with influence opposed a certain sin, while engaging in it himself, struggling with it, hiding it - "deceiving those I love the most" - is this therefore "hypocrisy"?

oOo Is hypocrisy the #1 sin of our day?
oOo Or is it something else? oOo oOo

Haggard, age 50, said "I am a deceiver and a liar. There's a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I have been warring against it for all of my adult life".

so repulsive and dark: sounds like Rev. Haggard knows, or at the least has decided, that this thing in his life is wrong and a deadly serious issue. It has now affected a far greater range of life than just his personal relationships.
I have been warring against it for all of my adult life: we know that the Boomer generation is screwed-up, from all of the free-living, sexually overwhelming upbringing and" so-called liberal" free-thinking attitudes of the American dark ages in the 60's-80's... oOo

oOo Many of us have struggled with serious personal defects most of our adult lives , often acting-out in destructive behaviors, but something in us still realizes that these issues are evils in us, and we are warring against them. oOo oOo oOo

In our culture now it's OK to glorify all types of "sin" or immoral behavior -
  • murder is OK if you are the Sopranos or horror/slasher screenplay writers...
  • sexual abuse is OK if you are porn amateurs/actors or semi-demi street thugs turned rappers...
  • adultery is OK if you're Desperate Housewives or not even married but "living (sleeping) together"...
  • lying and pride are OK if it advances your career or stock portfolio, or if you cheat on exams/papers to get your degree...
  • These are Not OK if you do them secretly, (ie. decieve others with your 'hypocrisy")- but if you openly flaunt them as acceptable behavior you are applauded for your "honesty"...!?
So, Which is the greatest sin? Was Rev. Haggard's greatest sin that of hypocrisy - or was it adultery? Maybe lying to cover-up? How about pride? Maybe that he committed homosexual acts as the Bible condemns? [At this point I'm seeing a man kneeling down to the ground, making marks in the sand, and I'm wondering what he's going to say...] oOo

oOo I don't know what to say about Rev. Haggard and this current affair, but I'd say our greatest sin is none of these. Rather, it is the same sin it's always been, and for Every/Anyone: oOo

the sin of failing to acknowledge that Jesus is the only true human manifestation of God on the earth, the only human being ever risen to live again from the dead,

this Jesus being the only one we can really trust to know the truth about ourselves, this world, and the solutions to the evil and suffering our choices and behaviors help perpetuate. oOo oOo oOo

[and now I see the only ones left standing are the stoneless ones... ] oOo

In Colorado and our world we can't yet see "the end of the story". But we can live in faith and humbleness, as we live in forgiveness- yet without abandoning our convictions of right and wrong either.

"Worshippers are always challenged by crisis. And when tragedy and crisis strikes it is at that moment that you truly decide if you are a worshipper of the most high God", said the Rev. Ross Parsley of the New Life Church, who has replaced Haggard.

Biggest American Retailer FORCED to sell what the State Dictates

Wal-Mart pharmacies to carry morning-after pill

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said on Friday that all of its pharmacies would carry morning-after contraceptive pills, bowing to pressure from states seeking to force the world's biggest retailer to do so.
Can You Believe this is now the United States?! I would have thought China right after Tiennenman Square, or maybe Hitler or the Taliban.

OK -- Big Brother has actually arrived-- and now HAS THE RIGHT TO PUSH AROUND any business that doesn't "voluntarily" sell WHAT BIG BROTHER WANTS TO BE SOLD! oOo oOo

"We expect more states to require us to sell emergency contraceptives in the months ahead," Ron Chomiuk, vice president of pharmacy for Wal-Mart, said.

No matter if you accept abortion, birth-control or any of the other issues circling around this-- the fact that WalMart is "FORCED" by the government to stock ANYTHING AT ALL is grounds for Revolution like the Boston Tea Party!! oOo oOo

Illinois and Massachusetts
already require Wal-Mart to sell the morning-after pill, which must be taken within 72 hours after sex to prevent pregnancy. Pressure to introduce similar mandates is building in Connecticut and New York.

oOo oOo So let me get this straight-- you have up to 72 hours to take this. That's what...THREE DAYS?!? So you don't have to run out at 3 am that very day to get this crap-- and I'm sure that another druggist around town or in the nearest neighboring State will be open within 3 days where you CAN get this crap.

oOo oOo This issue has *totally no basis in fact!* oOo oOo

And here's the "Party-Line":

"The sooner emergency contraception is taken, the better it works. In many communities, Wal-Mart is the only pharmacy, so timely access is critical," said Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Cecile Richards said in a separate statement.

oOo oOo I respectfully submit that because Ms. Richards' birth-progenitors must *not* have had such timely access, we now have to endure such distorted, self-serving and patently offensive illogic. We certainly value "anyone's personal choices" *much more* than the free rights of business owners to even make their own (legal and ethical) decisions!

oOo oOo LONG LIVE BIG SISTER-PLANNER NON-PARENTING-HOOD ! ! oOo oOo

Senator, Do You, or Would You EVER, Like PBJ Sandwiches?!

Let me get this straight-- supposedly the "American People" have a "Right" to know beforehand what another person thinks, feels, decides, wants, believes-in-- about almost anything that "I" myself deem important, or that "I" happen to care about strongly enough? Never mind that this other person might be a lawyer, politician, or potential Supreme Court judge.

Idiot Sen. Joseph Biden claims such a preposterous idea-- basically contending that "he" has a "right" to know ahead of time, how a judge will judge even before they have been presented with a case to consider! oOo oOo

With the rest of the Democrat ratpack, he is acting like a trial lawyer who wants to exclude potential jurors based on their attitudes, prejudices or proclivities toward the issues surrounding a defendant. [OK, if it were just like that, it might be acceptable.] oOo

The hypothetical ideological question is: "Would justice Alito rule favorably on the President's decision to go to war on Iran without congressional approval?" AS IF Biden already knows this is Bush's intention (Mindreader!) oOo oOo

But, what he and his "ilk" are really doing
is ASKING HOW THE PERSON (IN THIS CASE, COURT NOMINEE ALITO) IS GOING TO DECIDE AN ISSUE BEFORE IT IS EVER PRESENTED TO THE COURT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Not what his attitude or predispostion is-- but HOW HE WILL ACTUALLY DECIDE!

"What will you do? We Demand to know NOW!"
"And if you don't decide the way WE WANT YOU TO, then you're out."
[because, of course, we run things around here, and we are always right... ]

What arrogance! What holier-than-thou condescension! What Total BS
from the Supreme godly-one Joseph Biden! [ except that his Omniscience seems to be on the fritz...] oOo oOo

Let's see, before-the-fact, why didn't we ask Clinton whether or not he would have sex in his office with any interns around (given the opportunity)? Why not ask lawyer (before he was a Justice) Thurgood Marshall if he thought segregation should be acceptable in Kansas schools? Why didn't we ask Justice Blackmun if he would have ruled in favor of abortion in Roe vs. Wade?

Why not now ask
Justice O'Connor when she will have that abortion she's been planning on for the last year? oOo

What incredible hubris to even suggest this kind of blatant twisted privacy-invasion litmus test.

I hate this AH Biden. Let me grill him on whether
he EVER had, will, or intends in the future next 40 years to taste, smell, touch, eat, set eyes on, or be in the same room with: a PBJ sandwich! And if so, how will he defend such an outlandish proposal before a jury of his Democratic phony cronies?! (read: JO backroom backstabber DL-ing, two-faced backhanded, special-interest fatcat, overthehill washed-up, hypocritical disgusting lying S&MOB's).

I'm sure glad Katie Couric quoted this description today of Biden as a blatant diahrea of the mouth pandemic blight on our nation, because that's what he is. Crawl back under your rock, Moron Joseph! oOo oOo

Miers Nomination: Big Right-wing Crock Waste of Time

This whole FLAP over the Miers Supreme Court nomination is disgusting. I say let her be a lightning-rod for revealing the true colors of the Ideologues in Congress and the DC arena... oOo oOo

I'm a Dem who watches the performance of what people Really DO, not what they hype. I applaud Pres. Bush for this nomination, for although he may not always make good decisions, he shows that he will not Cow-Tow to some of these rabid narrow-minded politicos.

Like this statement: from Sen. [Kansas] Sam Brownback, who will meet with Miers on Thursday. "Not much track record, people vouching for her, yet indications of a different thought pattern earlier in life." oOo oOo

Whoa, now That's a Problem!! oOo oOo
Shame on anyone
for thinking differently sometime in their life!! oOo oOo

No matter which side of the aisle- Trent Lott, William Kristol, as well as Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, et. al and pundits like George Will show what they really are-- not so caring about Truth, Justice and the American Way as they are about propagating pet political agendas and putrid fallacious Ideologies (of any stripe!).

And these Bloggers, they're no better [ cited by Orin Kerr, October 3, 2005 at 12:28pm "Reactions from the Conservative Blogosphere: A few excerpts" ] . . . give me a break!

Get lost Creeps! The whole lot of you needs to run off the mountain into the lake. oOo oOo

1700 American casualties -- How many Iraqi ??

Tuesday, 6/28/05, RIP [Ripley's Internet Press] American President George Bush's speech tonight on the status of the invasion of Iraq yields some answers but leaves unanswered questions. oOo oOo

While we and the American leadership all grieve the loss of any and all soldiers, and we all wish for the fighting to be over, it must be seen that the level of military loss in this war (1700 was the figure bantered about, how do we verify this?) is nowhere near to an incredible, horrible, and irrational level. Compared to the losses in Vietnam, Korea, Arab-Israeli war, the Gulf War, Bosnia-Croatia, etc.--virtually any other conflicts-- we see in these past examples far greater unacceptable numbers of dead.

Frankly, if it were "17,000 dead" this would motivate me to protest in alarm and be concerned! We are not at this level, and God forbid, we never will be. oOo oOo We can stem the tide of further deaths. We should be doing everything humanly possible to thwart any more killings.

-- I personally agree with a Zero Tolerance policy to Death. --

But for those Americans who are swayed by horror over the dead already, I say that with your protest of our government's actions in Iraq, you should proclaim this value to the "insurgency"! See what their reponse and attitude is. oOo oOo It will be more of the same-- total disregard for human life and rights, for the sake of their own twisted agenda. [ This goes, of course, the same for Palestinian, Irish, African, and any other terrorists as well. ]

I do not believe for a moment that these scattered, scrappy militants have any support from the REAL people of Iraq. They are not independents, freedom-fighters, defenders of Islam or any such thing.
They are merely outlaws & renegades. They do not care about anyone but themselves.
They should not be trusted or have any voice. They are a festering boil and a blight on humanity. oOo oOo

I do not mourn their suicidal self-killing, they can help us all they like, in the vermin-iradication process.
But to murder the people around them is never acceptable and will be resisted.

Less than 1,000 casualties (!) were sustained in the "invasion" of a foreign stronghold of terrorists,
and a dictator rallying his thug "army" to remain in tryannical control!? I don't know the actual figures,
but that must be seen as a great relief and sound victory for the strategists and the brave military forces
that we have sent to these lands!

-- We have not forgotten to get Osama bin Laden, but we will also have to
eliminate his underlings and wanna-be's --

oOo oOo oOo
The military action in Iraq must be compared to a police action in the middle of Chicago (or LA or NY for other examples) to attack a conclave of gangs, criminals and mobsters bent on controlling and terrorizing the city.
It would be a very brave move to inject those forces into the middle of these criminals in order to destroy their operations-- and they would be open and vulnerable to continued re-attacks while they remain on the criminal's own turf. oOo oOo

But as Bush has again told us, from the viewpoint of his advisors and American military leaders, the battle against terrorism must take place on the terrorists' own turf. It must be in those areas they have chosen to infest with their subversive presence, or it will happen again on our soil. Thus we have taken the fight across the globe to get directly face to face with terrorists, and hope to eradicate their stronghold before they can regroup to attack more of the countries of the world. oOo oOo

-- Who's Kidding Whom!? --

The question remains for me (if we have to count numbers)-- HOW MANY innocent men, women, and children of the Iraqi people have been slaughtered, murdered, and terrorized by these punks and mobsters that continue to wage war on their own flesh and blood in the supposed name of driving out the "Evil Americans"!! oOo oOo

The numbers do grow daily-- "averaging 70 a day" as reported-- but the casualties are not mounting so fast in American soldiers (and those of our allied coalition forces) as they are rising much faster, steadily, with each car-bombing, suicide mission, grenading or rocket firing carried out by these "insurgents" in their midst.

The death toll continues to rise, demonically among the Iraqi people themselves. oOo oOo

The cost of this war, and of our staying the course-- of "not standing down" until the "Iraqi forcese are able to stand up" for themselves and the protection of their country-- must not be measured in money! oOo oOo

See my "Cost of the TerroristThugMob Gang-Rape-of Islamic-Countries Murderous Insanity Network counter"
-- the true cost of this "war in Iraq" is the brutally shattered lives of the population forced to
endure these shameful acts by the very few lawless ones in their midst.

-- The Pundits' - Observers' - Peanut Gallery - Sidelines Commentary --

After President Bush's speech tonight, the inimitable Tim Russert of NBC is heard to say that a "new outlook"
or rationale for the "war on terror" is given by Bush, by stating that "instead of WMD now the battle is to ensure
that Iraq does not become a haven for terrorists." oOo If we remember correctly, it was
  1. the paper [ cellphone / computer / email ] trail. . .
  2. the smoking gun [ hijacked plane / bomb / gas / WMD ] trail. . .
  3. the money [laundering / "charities" / secret wealthy families ] trail. . .
  4. the terrorist network [ recruiting / training / harboring / support ] trail. . .
that (surprise!) led us to connect the dots first to Afghanistan and then to Iraq. oOo oOo oOo

oOo oOo Amazing! Terrorists are loose on the world!
they have money and weapons support from "somewhere"- oOo
-- Bin Laden has ties and para-military allegiances with radicals in Iraq oOo oOo
(and, it must be said, ALSO SCATTERED AROUND [ STILL! ] IN VARIOUS OTHER COUNTRIES)--

AND THERE IS A DICTATOR, Saddam Houssein, in Iraq:
  • WHO SUPPORTS TERRORIST ACTIVITY (at the very least, by rhetoric, attitude and example!)
  • who oppresses his own people;
  • rapes their economy and their women;
  • steals and hoards their national treasures and profits;
  • gouges the very eyes and hearts of dissenters to his tyranny;
  • supports his own network of thugs, thieves and criminals;
  • allows unchecked brutal power in his "leadership"-- for over 30 years;
  • and is "reported"(reputed among the intelligence community) to be developing WMD--
for what use? To adorn the walls of his palace(s)? Is he going to help us get the terrorists? Not hardly.

Thus, what better place for other terrorists of the world to re-group, amass, strategize, prepare and launch yet more attacks on innocent popoulations, the US included, than in a vulnerable, volatile hotbed of hatred and tacit support as that given under Saddam?

THEREFORE, OF COURSE it made and makes sense to cut out the dark sinister debased heart of this global criminal enterprise that would set itself up in the Iraq-Iran-Syrian-Jordanian quadrant of the instable Middle-East!

So has the American strategy and purpose in carrying on the War Against Terror into Iraq changed?

NO-- even though the threat was less than we were led to believe (without amassed WMD's) the grave danger would still remain with Saddam and his crony leaders in power. More than other totalitarian regimes (with the exception perhaps of N. Korea and China now) they could act as a catalyst to draw more terrorist actions to the middle-east, to become a veritable staging area to attack the world at large. At least this is my hindsight theory. oOo oOo

Why can't freedom-loving people over the world see this? Is it because they really AREN'T FREEDOM-LOVING, actually just Self-interest-loving at heart? oOo oOo

Are some of us blind to the ramifications of allowing ANY criminals to thrive and survive in our cities, states, nations and continents?

Don't we all want a peaceful, crime-free, open and caring "neighborhood", to live together in this "global village"? Why don't we support the efforts of the anti-mobster deputies, man-hunters, private eyes, "Elliot Ness and the Untouchables" willing to risk their own lives for these great values?

I'm not saying the means justify the ends. This is never right. Far from it.
The Ends must Justify the Means beforehand.

And we can't allow the "good guys" to usurp our [the world's] freedoms for the sake of their helping us.
We all understand this.

oOo oOo But are we "too afraid" of losing our [ and other nations' ] high and mighty "personal rights"? oOo oOo

Parable of "The Dead Pork floating bloated in the River"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that roaches and assorted vermin have been cleared and exterminated, the clean-up and disinfection process must continue. Here's the parable paraphrase:
Once the swine have their fill of the demons and are chased down the hills into the sea, if they are
allowed to return to re-infest their "hosts", these parasites will return 7-fold times as nasty, mean and hideous.
The dead pork floating bloated in the Tigris must not be allowed to re-assault the cleansed sands
of Islamic soil to pervert the real faith and religion of these peoples! Begone, Satan!
Another, more modern analogy:
These criminals and minions of the True Satan (the "evil one" in the Bible, not in radical terrorist rhetoric)
are so much like the evil hoards of the Evil Eye in Tolkein's classic The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
They breed more evil among the easily manipulated, like the slimey Orcs enslaved from the depths.
As such, they must not be allowed to debase and destroy their own race's heritage for the sake of their own greed, power, atrocities and cruelty. Why don't the strong people of the bordering nations bind together to lock out any more outsiders, mercenaries and criminals from getting into Iraq to carry out the criminal actions of this "insurgency"?

-- What then can we say to all of this? --

We can pray that a swift end, a changing of hearts,
a laying down of weapons and fighting come quickly and soon.

We can enlist the cooperation of humanitarian,
economic and social aid for the beleagured people of Iraq.

We can stand for justice and mercy in our own countries,
and the decrease in lawless living wherever we are.

We can work for peace in our own circles of influence,
the cause of righteousness and truth,
and salvation from slavery of all sorts,
by any who would deny true freedom
to another human being--
all for their own perverted gain.

We can hold fast to the effort we have begun
(reluctantly, with great cost)
to stop the terrorist network in it's tracks.

Remember: 9 - 11 Never Again,
just like Pearl Harbor Never Again,
Auschwitz Never Again,
Killing Fields Never Again,
Bosnia Never Again,
Rowanda Never Again. . .

. . .[ add your personal knowledge of murderous tragedy ]. . .

and this will lead to never again the need for drastic "radical cancer surgery"

like Hiroshima,
Iwo Jima,
Battle of the Bulge,
D-Day on Normandy ,
Waterloo,
Gettysburg and Appomattox,
the American Revolution,
the (disastrous, but necessary) Fall of Rome,
Old Testament wars of righteousness to overthrow evil kings, etc. . .

. . .[ where and whenever evil men oppress other human beings, add your own dismal examples ]. . .

Short of despair, fear and pessimism, we can have hope and courage-- resolve in the face of evil intent.

And Faith: "Lord Jesus, come quickly to deliver your people and the world!"

Until then, we share the responsibility to our selves and this planet.
Together. One Village. One World.

President Bush: "The terrorists are brutal, but they are No Match for the United States of America, or our people."
This is a call to the same resolve we felt after 9-11 to pursue and bring terrorists to justice. Expect that this pursuit will not be easy. Most attempts at anything worthwile have a large cost to be accepted.

The people of Iraq and other followers of Islam can be freed from terrorist and dictator oppression, and rise to their own glorious and free achievements. The rest of the world would do well to help with the swift and sure completion of this task, and then continue the "fight for peace." This is alas, not the only fight for freedom we (the world) will face in this century--
you know of the other countries where the danger or oppression already exists.

There can be no peace while some of us suffer.
"No man is an island."
There can be no peace while criminals roam the streets of the world.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow Knows. . ."

This is the "shadow" that would eclipse the human soul-- the darkening of sin;
which only God can fully see, and only he can fully eradicate. We must do
what we can in this life physically and spiritually, but only God can bring the final end to sin and death. oOo oOo

And this is the message alluded to in Tolkien's metaphorical Trilogy: it is
the courage in the Face of Evil that "the Quest to destroy the Ring" embodies.

We can again embrace the hope that such a vision gives--
a new heaven and new earth remade,
without the brokenness
that we all too easily
see and know here now.

oOo oOo oOo Do Not Give Up. . . the (Good!) End Is Near. . . oOo oOo oOo

Seems Bobby Fischer is still the Buzz (Yahoo)

Fischer's Final Move? Tuesday March 29, 2005 1:00PM PT

oOo oOo Every competitive endeavor needs a nut oOo -- someone who annoys all but the most patient fan with his ill-advised boasts. Someone who, for better or worse, can take a stale sport or musty game and shake it up. Chess legend Bobby Fischer (Buzz Up+372%) is such a beast. oOo

oOo oOo The love-to-hate-him former champion managed to dodge jail time in the States by immigrating to Iceland [ala Clinton's cold Canadian contravention!?], oOo oOo site of Bobby's greatest triumph way back in good old 1972.

Long since retired, [ What do old game-players DO once they no longer gamster all the time? ] oOo the bearded wonder's anti-Semitic ravings against the United States government have sparked search interest.

Also retired, speaking out against politicians is Russia's Garry Kasparov, who once took on IBM's Deep Blue in a man vs. machine chess match for the ages. . . oOo oOo

Meanwhile, searches on chess made a more guarded advance, up only 4%. [ WhoOoaH ! ]
